About the practice
Stanton-Dunne & Co are specialist employment solicitors, representing both employers and employees. The firm was established in 2004.
The Principal of the Practice is Sean Stanton-Dunne who has specialised in employment law since 1991.
Sean works for a wide range of employers including some substantial commercial concerns and high profile
charitable organisations. He also acts for employees in Employment Tribunal claims.
Sean was previously a partner with London firm Harris Rosenblatt & Kramer where he worked from 1993 to 1998.
In 1998, he moved to the Chelmsford office of Merricks to set up that firmís employment law department.
Sean has presented numerous seminars and workshops on employment law subjects.
About our work
The firm covers the whole field of employment law work, both contentious and non contentious.
On the contentious side, we represent employers and employees in the Employment Tribunal in cases
of unfair dismissal, breach of contract, unlawful deductions from wages and sex, race, age and disability discrimination.
We are able to offer our clients a one stop service which means that we are there with you from taking your original instructions
right through to the hearing at Tribunal. We do almost all of our own advocacy on cases in the Employment Tribunals which means that
we can offer you continuity and what we believe is a cost effective service. We also represent employers on appeals to the
Employment Appeal Tribunal.
On the non contentious side, we advise employers on contracts of employment and other employment documentation which includes
advice on drafting and enforcing restrictive covenants. We also advise on the implications of the Transfer of Undertakings Regulations
which protect the rights of employees on the transfer of a business to a new employer.
We provide ongoing advice to Human Resources Managers to help them to resolve potential employment disputes before they escalate
into damaging and costly litigation. This can include visiting clients to provide interactive workshops designed to increase the awareness
of line managers in dealing with sensitive issues such as discrimination in the workplace.
